Recently i have had to format my computer due to viruses and all that , when i brought my computer (7/8 months ago) i got all the disc's with it u now motherboard disc windows xp disc but i did'nt recieve one for my dvd program/applicaton(the one that was already installed on my p.c when i got it was power dvd). So i got cyberlink dvd and installed it on my computer the dvd's i play on my computer seem to lag the specs of my p.c are quiet high and even if no program or minimal applications are running this problem still occurs.
i usually get a message before opening the dvd player saying somthing like "error audio codec not found" i have also downloded win media player 11 form micro website and when i play back my mp3's they play absoulatley fine even when i try to play my dvd's through media player it still lags and theres hardly any sound when a charachter speaks half of his/her words are stuttered and the picture is jerky . I have tested this with a number of dvd's even new ones i have'nt used before without scrathes
plz help :(

My specs are

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ HYPERTRANSPORT- 1MB L2 CACHE
1 GB DDR Ram - 400 Mhz - PC 3200
ATI Radeon X550 128 DDR
110 GB HDD
1066 BUS SPEED

PS. Everything worked fine before i formatted my PC

yes its definately the codecs...

try all in one codec pack also...and use VLC media player....that plays 99.9% of things you throw at it

good luck
