DVD drive.

Hi guy's and girl's.

Just quick one, my laptop (dell studio 17/1747) DVD drive has packed up not reading disk, not spinning when you a disk in.
My question is, can I buy any laptop DVD drive and put it in and install it? Or have I got to get a percific DVD drive?.

You need to check if the drive is sata, but the ones below should work ok:

That drive won't work as the 1747 uses a slot loading drive, its a full strip down to change as well.

any of these should be ok, Slot and sata is the main requirements.
