I've recently dumped some old Video 8 tapes to DVD and would now like to edit them. Which software do you recommend I use?

Thanks.

Stear well clear of Pinnacle software, it's full of bugs but would be great if it worked properly.

Disagree on this one. I have used Pinnacle v9 for a few years now and never had an ounce of trouble. If you want to capture directly from camcorder to PC ,edit and author and write directly to DVD without all the fuss , then use this program. In my experinece, if you are using a PC for editing and writing thats connected to the net , then you will get problems .I use two dedicated PC's [AMD's 2.0gig & 2.8gig] for video editing without any anti-virus ,spyware killers ,firewalls running , infact hardly anything using up resources or slowing processes down and I get perfect disks everytime .

Thanks but I think £700 is going to be a little too much to pay for a one-off project :p

I'm trying to see if I can use Nero Vision as I have already bought Nero 7. I'm looking for something pretty basic that will just allow me to cut out the nasty bits and burn back to DVD.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a trial available for DVD Author Pro.

I've managed to do what I want using Adobe Premier Elements 2.0 but the finished DVD seems a little "out of sync". The frame rate/movement doesn't seem natural.

Any ideas please?
