Before I begin my post, I'll start by emphasising that I am not asking this question in connection with converting copyrighted material into MPG format.
I have a Sony Handycam 202 camcorder which records onto Mini-DVDs.
When importing video footage from a disk recorded from the device into Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate, the video footage has 8 frame pauses in it and the sound track falls out of sync.
When playing the mini DVD in PowerDVD or in a standalone DVD player, the pauses and loss of audiosync are not present.
I have tried importing MPGs into Pinnacle (converted from HD content from a HD camcorder), and these do not appear to suffer from the same problem.
As a result, I suspect the issue lies with the converters/filters/renders that Pinnacle Studio uses to import DVD content.
As a result, I'd like to know if anyone could recommend any half decent DVD-MPEG conversion Software, preferabley freeware.
Cheers
