Hi, I'm posting in here because I really don't know where to post it, the problem is display related but I dont know what's causing it - maybe the monitor, maybe software, maybe something else.
So... When I'm playing DVDs, I'm getting a very stange ghosting type effect. but it isn't ghosting. When something bright is on the screen, then it goes dark - you can still see an outline of the bright part until that part of the screen goes light again. It does it when playing DVDs in PowerDVD, WMP10, WMP11, The software that came with the X-Fi.
It's very strange though, on PowerDVD, if I pause it when this effect is noticable, it disappears (dark areas go their proper colour) but when I resume play, the effect is back. The effect doesn't appear in the cyberlink screen captures of the DVD either. And I dont know how else to take screenshots of DVDs, prt scrn doesnt seem to work.
When I pause with the effect onscreen in WMP, the effect stays there and is still there when i resume.
It also happens when playing DVDs backwards. (the same effect though, the ghost comes after bright patches, it's not just the same in reverse)
I really don't have a clue what could be causing this, I would have thought it couldn't be monitor related since it stays there when pausing, but I'm also sure it never happened on my VP171s which makes me think it must be monitor related.
The latest drivers for the monitor are installed and it's running 1680*1050 at 60Hz (I am also using the latest drivers for all of the rest of my hardware)
I hope someone knows what's going on.
