Hi, anyone know how to get Media Player 10 to playback DVDs - without paying?
I had it before I had a major system crash/ rebuild but can't for the life of me find it now.
I'm not talking about downloading K-Lite media player classic either.

Many Thanks

Download the K-lite Codec Pack (I think it has a DVD Codec), not the Media Player Classic.

Just install the free trial version of any of the DVD players (e.g. PowerDVD, WinDVD). You can uninstall them again if you want to, but it will leave the DVD codec.

Don't install K-Lite! Its full of too many codecs that causes conflicts when encoding (and sometimes when decoding...)

I install the K-Lite Codec Pack, but customise what I want/don't want. I choose a DVD codec (it's either/or) from that list. Never had any problems - even installed it on school PCs when I worked as an ICT technician.

No it doesnt.

Caused a hell of a lot of problems with me encoding, removed it and installed FFDSHOW and the other codecs I needed and had no problems what so ever.

You just select one codec when you encode I don't see how its even possible to have a problem, it was probably caused by the program you were using, I have the klite mega codec pack installed and using virtual dub I can encode anything with no problems all it does is install codecs and there is no reason codecs would conflict with each other.

How some codecs work there is, 3ivx, divx3 and divx5 conflict easily, due to them all being based off the same source.
