when watching widescreen DVD on my widescreen monitor I still have Black bars top+bottom how do i get rid of them?

You need to use the pan & scan options in your DVD play-back software.

You will probably loose a little from the sides of the picture, but at least you will get rid of most of the letterbox effect.

Never understood why if using a widescreen screen you have to have letter box really , but cheers for the info

you still get the bars at top and bottom on the widescreen monitors because the source material is in a 16:9 ratio and the monitor is natively 16:10.

You can use the smartstretch in PowerDVD to try and make it fill the screen without making it look to ..streteched.
