Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a new dvd player soon as my old one has finally had enough after a few good years. So I have a few questions I need answering before I buy it.

First of all my, old dvd player the Pioneer xv-dv303 may have given up the ghost but the speakers are fine and I'd rather not buy and new ones right now.

The dvd player I'm looking at getting is the Pioneer DV-696AV-SMR. So what I want to know is this ok to use as home cinema system and plug my existing speakers into without needing an amp.

Second of all, if it is ok is there an adapter to connect my old speakers which have connections like this to the dvd player which has connectors like this this?

Thanks for any help and I'm sorry if any of these questions are extremely daft.

No you are going to need an amp if you get that player as unlike your previous set-up you are just getting a DVD player where as before you had a whole cinema system.
