It's finally time to replace my ancient (but still working fine) SC2000 DVD player so I'm looking for some recommendations, probably for a recorder rather than a player. I'm not into TV by any means and just watch the occasional film (prefer the cinema), plus my neighbours already have enough to put up with, without me having some huge AV system as well.
The one thing that's always put me off a new DVD recorder/player is that my SC2000 has the ability to skip directly to menus, avoiding advertisements, FBI warnings on R1 DVDs, etc. I take it that current DVD players force the user to watch all that tripe with no control over how it's presented, is that right? So, is there a DVD player/recorder on the market which can skip such stuff or is there one that can permit such functions to be added?
Thanks for looking
