Can anyone recommend a cheap DVD player with an HDMI connection for upscaling DVD's?

Thanks
Samsung DVDHD860 at £65 seems like a good bet or Sony DVPNS76HS at £80?

WIll the upscaling be a huge difference over conecting via component?
I currently am only connected to a 32" Sammy via SCART and some DVDs look a bit rubbish unless I am pretty far back.

I have that upscaling DVD player, and a 32" samsung connected up by HDMI and have to say I find the picture to be a big improvement over what i had before. Im not sat all that far back and the quality looks good (around 3 1/2 metres).

Whats more, its good to have the samsung because it all integrates nicely with the TV and you can use 1 remote control.

It serves as a nice stop-gap until real HD takes over.

If you don't mind spending more, the Oppo 981 is supposed to offer good picture quality, and can scale mpeg-iv and dvd-videos to 1080p, I have one- seems ok. Around £180 though.

Thanks for the input guys. Not really looking to spend much. Seems there are mixed opinions on upscaling DVD players, but for £65 it's not exactly going to break the bank so might just get it anyway :)

I probably won't get it now to be honest, might just get a component cable for my current DVD player, im not hugely fussy. Ill put the £65 towards my new amp+speakers :)

I have a similiar set up, and I think it gives a cracking picture. Probably not up to some peoples standards but it does a cracking job for 65 quid.
