Anybody know why dvd's play a tad quiet?
It means if i have something on in he background clicking sounds are rather off puttingly loud?
I use VLC player, and also heard that 50% volum is like the natural volume level anything else is forced louder....well can't remember how it was phrased, but hopefulyl someone knows what Iam talking about on that part, anyway as I was saying I don't want to turn VLC up to 100% but even then i find it a tad quiet.

By default VLC goes up to 400%. Just lower the system volume and up the VLC volume, or lower the system volume and up the amplifier volume. Either way you will amplify the sound, it's just a question of where you amplify it.

you say lower the system volume, apart from the taskbar, which seems to lower everything, is there a way to lower the sound effects the computer makes?

edit: its just really the clicking sounds and the sounds outlook make.
I turn everything off on msn anyway.

Not that I know of, but you can turn off some system sounds in Sound properties somewhere. If you're lucky you might be able to adjust their volumes too.

Press Ctrl and the up arrow key, or use the scroll wheel on your mouse. If that caps quite low, I think you can change settings somewhere. Also audio tracks may only amplify up to 200% by default, I can't remember.
