My folks are doing away with our old DVD player (won't read discs now) and the VCR is on it's last legs so they are wanting to buy a DVD recorder, I was wondering if someone could recommend me a decent one for around £150-200, scart connection would also be great as their WS TV only has S vid/ 3 x scart.

Cheers!

i got a panasonic dmres-10 as a replacement for a vcr and cheap dvd player and its been great . easy to use and decent quality picture except for 8 hour recording . can be had for £120 now

You can try the Panasonic DMR-ES15 which had a great review in What Hi-Fi magazine (if you trust magazine reviews).

It's £150 but will be cheaper if you shop around.
