Is there anything you can do to change the DVD drive region on an MBP??

Region X 1.5 may do what you want.

Or use VNC as your DVD player, it bypasses the region check completely. You can change the region of your DVD player, but it will lock after 3 changes. Just put in a DVD from a different, it will give you the choice to change it.
