Hi guys,

I'm about to start ripping my DVD collection to my hard drive ready for when I set up my HTPC and stream stuff throughout the house.

Do you recommend any free (or cheap) programs and how should i go about ripping? I've downloaded a trial version of AnyDVD and attempted to rip a music DVD. The DVD ripped okay, but it's all in one program. Is it possible to rip each music video as a seperate program? Ideally, I'd like to be able to have a huge list of music vids that I can select like a jukebox, rather than having to chapter skip individual videos.

Cheers,

Jed.

use anydvd to decrypt (just install the program and leave it running in the tray)

then use dvd decrypter in ifo mode to rip each ifo (title)

there's a commandline addon for it at videohelp, which can rip multiple ifo's for you

if you had say The Office dvd in there, it'd give you each episode as an ifo to rip, so you'd have 1x vob file for each episode

set the ifo options to 'file splitting : none', unless you're using a fat32 hard drive

i guess so, never used a music dvd

dvd decrypter is free ( mrbass.org ) takes about 30secs to setup following my instuctions above
