DVD Ripping?

Hey all. I have been recording my favourite tv series to dvd each week and I want to rip a segment of the show to my hard drive. Is there anything I can use that will capture just maybe 3 mins worth of audio and video?

use dvd decrypter to copy the files

then use virtualdub to cut segments from it

install xvid (koepi) from free-codecs.com

open the files in vdub, select the 'start' of where you want to cut, press the Home key on keyboard, now, move to the end of the segment you want to remove and presss End on the keyboard, click Video, Full Processing mode, use xvid as the compression codec, at 1200kb/s, press F7 then choose a filename

depends on the format you want them in really

i use fairuse or simple divx to rip dvd tv recordings
to divx or xvid.

just make sure you have codex installed. i would recommend

and virtualdub is a great tool for cutting out parts you want

you can't use ffdshow to encode (unless i'm missing something from it)

need divx or xvid(free) to encode

will thats all i use when ripping to divx from a dvd-video.

check the list of things ffdshow can do. im sure encodings on there
im not sure about xvid tho

You dont need dvd decryptor to copy the files, he can just drag and drop.

You should use 2 pass encoding as well, it's tons better than cbr.
