Hi,
I'm having some trouble with my Samsung dvd rw drive..infact this is the second one in two weeks (last was a sony)..and just like the first it's happened again
It was working fine..and come to load up fallout 3 last night and it comes up with the error no disk is in the drive, i've tested 5 other game dvd's and it's exactly the same thing..just keeps opening and asking to insert a disk  might this be a problem with secuROM? or could it be a hardware fault ? just seems weird two new drives have both gone the same way...i'm using vista64 ultimate btw, my psu is a 800 watt tagan piperock modular.

Thanks in advance.

Grrrrrrrrrrr this is damn annoying now, just tested the drive in another system and still having the same issues, i'm either very unlucky getting two dodgy optical sata drives..or something in my system is causing them to go like this :-( could a psu do that ? just affect one component? i've tried different cables all to no avail.

Checked for a firmware update for the drive?

Not got any starforce games installed have you? (Older ones are more likely to cause the issue but I'm not even sure that they'll run under Vista64)

Hiya..thanks for the reply, just searching for a firmware update now, don't think i've got any starforce games installed..only have fallout 3, crysis warhead, the witcher, stalker clear sky on the drive at the moment..haven't got round to trying out grid yet.
