I put a disk in the drive and it just doesnt pick up the disk
I have upgraded the firmware, and reinstalled the drivers, and its just not picking them up
Any ideas on whats wrong and what I could do to correct the problem? It's really peeing me off now as it was working like a charm before I formated my PC.
In device manager, it shows that my Pioneer drive is installed...

Any help would be apprichated

Can anyone help?
I've just give it a reformat to see if that would fix the issue but it hasnt.
The thing is, I reformated the pc with the DVD RW thats not even picking up the disks in windows so its not like the RW is Borked.
I've tried a firmware update. I've changed IDE leads. Cant think what is up with it?
I've tried another RW and that works fine.. Just my RW isnt been picked up anymore during windows..

Help :\

what make is it?

i fixed a laptop the other day, and the only way it would read discs in windows was if i installed the dvd ram driver that was on the manufacturers website

Sounds like the drives developed a fault, I had this just yesterday with 1 of my DVD-RW drives, a HL 4164B, worked the day before but yesterday no go, swapped the drive out and all is well.

Hello, the drive appears fine in device manager, with no yellow mark. :(. I will replug the drive in and see if I can fix it with the solution you provided in your other post.

Edit: Tried it, Doesnt work :(

Its kind of weird though seen as I reformated with the drive that is naft up atm. It's like its just naft in windows, not on boot up.
