Hi all,

I have been given a DVD+RW disc containing vids of friends, to practice with some video-editing with.
But I’m already stuck, the programme I am going to use (Adobe Premier Pro) doesn't recognise the file type.

Folders on disc

Files within largest folder

I can watch the DVD in both a normal player (i.e. the one connected to my tele) and on the PC (through Windows Media Player). WMP shows the DVD as one but is split into various chapters.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

So the format used to record + playback to the disc isn't the same as that to edit the disc?

Anyone able to recommend particualr software? Google search has brought up all sorts - will continue to search.

You are lucky to be able to afford Adobe Premiere Pro, not having done this before

Thanks guys, i'll give it a go this week.
So far have used DVDdecrypter to convert from .VOB to .mpg but when viewed through adobe the vid had lost quality, played fast, and jumped :|
A guy passing in the I.T. room said it would be best to connect direct to the 'handycam' recorded on.

Andre - I am able to use the uni's copy, but not being on a video/computer-course myself i'm a bit lost :)
