Hi there,

Is any particular DVD software like Power DVD better than any other? I'm using Power DVD at the moment but at max Res on my monitor the picture is kinda grainy, now i'm not expecting the same quality as my TV but i'm wondering what there is can do to improve image quality?

Also I have a lot of movies going on whilst i'm surfing the net, I find the movie slows down a lot when I start messing about with web pages and the like. This also happend when I resize other windows on my screen. Would a Dual Core AMD processor stop this?

Thanks

My PC is only a Pentium 4 2.6GHz machine that is nearly 4 years old and I never have a problem with movie slowdown when surfing the net :| I use PowerDVD too...

Sure you haven't got another issue?

As for other software I don't have any ideas really. PowerDVD has always been excellent for my needs and never get a grainy image - at least not that I have noticed on my 19" Hyundai ImageQuest

you know in powerdvd, the video section, there are presets right ??

like "vivid", "bright", "theater" etc ?

hth !

Not that i can see mate, maybe i'm looking in the wrong menu!! lol

Picture looks fine when the window is minimised it's just at full whack resolution wise that things seem to degenerate :(

Downer.

im gutted for you m8y - some tft's do seem a bit grainy though imo .. my friends hyundai for one.

luckily my sammy 19" rocks hehe

c'est la vie eh ?

Lol, it's annoying as when I resize it slightly it looks much better..... Never mind :(

Check out Theatertek for the best picture quality. Use in combination with ffdshow to knock the socks off any standalone DVD player you've ever seen.

asuming you have the cpu muscle to back it up. SiriousB wont be upscaling much with his spec for example.

I use it myself, but i'll be honest it crashes more than any other dvd software ive used. seeking is particularly problematic. It's been the same whatever pc ive used it on. I cant work it out lol.
