DVD to AVI (Compression)

Hi there,

I have a dvd for a company which i have the copyright ownership of which I need to compress to an AVI file as much as I can so the file sizes are smaller.

What free programs can do this? if any?

I am hoping there are no legal issues as i own the copyright for the dvd and the content on it.

A very handily titled application called DVD 2 Avi might be able to help.

And as for the legalities, the problem with people ripping off comercial DVD's is the decrypting part of it that it legal as far as I am aware, rather than the compression.

Either way, if you are the copyright holder, then you do what you please with it, copy it, shrink it, convert it, split it, delete it, the choice is yours
