DVD to AVI ?

Hi guys,

I have a few DVDs which I don't fancy bringing to University. Rather I'd like to just have them on my computer. What applications do you recommend?

Does this allow you to select which format? Ideally I'd want to select the compression for my .avi file.

If I remember, its for converting a DVD to XviD/DivX, so not AVI at all.

If you have a large hard drive , just copy the contents of the disk to a folder on your drive and play them powerdvd or similar .Other than that,there are lots of programs that will rip your disks and encode them to divx or whatever.

I like Fair Use Wizard 2 or WinAVI Converter.

xvid and divx are just different avi codecs
