dvd upscale program for mac

wondering if there were any dvd upscaling software or methods i could use for the mac?
i want to use my macbook as a dvd player and link it to my hdtv and would love it if it could upscale normal dvds.

i think i found a software, dvd studio pro 4. does anyone use this?

i want a program that will upscale standard dvd resolution to HD resolution, surely a standard dvd player will not do this?

i thought what it does was jus stretch the pixels when you play full screen.
upscalers actually increase resolution.
there is a method for doing it in windows just wondering if there was for mac.
