My DVD Writer hasn't been working for quite a while, but now I've decided that I want it fixed.
I was using it in the rig in my signature, one day it stopped working, I think it was as the same
time that I disabled the Marvell controllers in my BIOS (coincidence?). I've turned them back
on but nothing. It's an IDE Sony DVD Drive, notihng special.

Some of you might remember I made an AMD 635 rig for a friend - well he says he doesn't
want it anymore, so I spent £315 on parts for nothing (tried putting it on the bay with no luck).
Thought I might as well take the DVD DRIVE out of it and try it in my own rig. Still no joy.

The drive isn't recognised at all in windows (same as the other one), and when I try to
open it, it makes a strange noise; then opens and closes very quickly. Perhaps this
is just a BIOS problem, and it needs updating or fiddling, thoughts much appreciated.

Quoted myself to make the two things noticeably seperate.

On a slightly different note, I had my i7 920 D0 @ 4ghz but one day the overclock failed
and it reset to stock. I kept it at stock for a good while, recently tried to get it back
to 4ghz. Atm it's at 3.82ghz (HT, 182x21).

Previously had 200x20. 1.275Vcore, 1.3 QPI/DRAM Voltage, 1.2IOH Voltage, 1.66 Dram
Voltage(I think). With 78 degrees highest under Prime95 for 8hours. (Airflow is slightly better now
too). Cooling using a H50/2Vipers, and 3 more Vipers as case fans. Now I can't reach 4ghz
at all! Have tried upping all (I think) of the above one notch at a time, until I reached
1.3Vcore which is when I stopped. Any thoughts people? I have updated my BIOS since I
had the previous overclock of 4ghz, has anyone else had problems with the latest BIOS for
the P6T Deluxe V1?

***On yet another unrelated note, if the 635 rig sells, I'll have the dosh to finish
"modding" my CM 690 (only need £45 for acrylic/cables/braiding i think, but am totally skint
atm). Thought it was worth mentioning since I don't post here very often anymore. Hopefully,
will be able to earn a few bob from building cheap systems, if so, will be getting a custom watercooling
settup, stay tuned for more!

PS: Any ideas are welcome for all 3 of the problems: DVD Drive, OC, and the rig (trust me
if you know of a place to sell it!)
