dvi and hdmi card questions

i have an oldish p4 3.0 pc kicking around. It is fitted with a 6800gt...

i was thinking of butchering it to build a HTPC and i was wondering if there would be any benefit in replacing the 6800gt with on of the ati agp hdmi cards... (sapphire iirc)

what do you guys think..

the spec of the HTPC will be.

p4 3.0 (478)
abit ic7-max3 mobo
500gb sata drive
dvd writer + maybe a blu-ray once they come down a bit
1.5gb ram
+ case still to be decided.
+ wireless lan

Don't think the CPU will be man enough to play back Blu-ray despite the fact the card does the decoding. Only way to find out is install the card & run this afterwards.

ok with that in mind i have now purchased a q6600 processor and i am now going to build a brand new system based around that.....

so which graphics card would suit me in this system. i dont expect to be playing games just movies etc....

it will be connected to my new panasonic th42pz70.. which arrives tomorrow
