DVI cable (which one ?)

Not used dvi before hence the noob question

Simply want to connect my computer which has DVI out
to my monitor that has DVI in.

two questions.

1. male to male or male to female cable required ?
2. single or dual cable required ? (1 monitor at 1920x1080)

I would expect it to be male-male, but why not check to see if both connectors look the same (they should be).
Single will be fine for that res at 60Hz. Dual is only required above 1920x1200@60Hz. If your monitor supports >60Hz input, you may be better with dual.

I would double check whether both ports are DVI-I or DVI-D, as a DVI-I cable will not fit in a DVI-D port. See wikipedia for pin details
