Hi all,

Im looking to get a pc laptop instead of a Macbook pro Retina. I had decided on a Gigabyte p25x v2.
I'm a retoucher by trade and will be plugging into a calibrated monitor, but i also want to be able to game and plug into the TV.

However I've just seen the 15" gaming laptops don't seem to come with a display port connector, only VGA and HDMI... I thought this would be standard nowadays?

Am i restricted to 17" machines, which seem massive to me, or anyone got any other ideas?

Cheers

I have the new 17" GS70 Stealth Pro and it has 2 display ports and a HDMI port. Before this I had a 15.6" Gigabyte P35K. Although this is slightly bigger the difference is minimal and not something that I would let hinder your purchase.

However if you really need 15.6" then the GS60 is the way to go - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-127-MS&groupid=959&catid=1828

Aha, great thanks guys... i think i was limiting myself looking only at the gtx 880's. (didnt mention that bit!)

I guess i shouldn't limit myself to the 15" as it will mainly stay at home.

Much appreciated

Well the GT60 does meet your requirements but like all 15.6" machines with top tier cards it's a bit heavier to get the cooling it needs.

Hi Average Joe,

Not sure on your budget, but from the P25X comment I guess you are looking around sub £2,000.

Something you could also consider, and gives you the graphics performance exceeding a GTX880m card could be the AORUS with 2 x 4gb SLI GTX860 cards...

We are seeing a lot of professional and business users buying this for work and play :-)
