I'm running an ATI x800XTPE with the latest cat driver from ATI, output to a Samsung LE26R73BD using a DVI - HDMI.

when in windows the default screen rez is set to 1280 x 720.
Its not very clean at all and doesn't fit windows correctly on the screen.

The samsung monitor is HD and supports 1366 x 768

When changing the res the nearest supported res seems to be 1360x768, although if I change to this rez the screen looks all fuzzy and text is not readable. I've tried in various other resolutions but get the same problem.

Within the monitor tab of the ATI properties my monitor is showing a plug and play running at 60 Hertz.

Under the displays tab it showing as TV with a red button in the top left corner.

Also FPD is showing 1280z720 60 hz

Within the options i have the following ticked.

WMV Accelatation
Re-activate all messages
Enable ATI taskbar
Show ATI on taskbar
Reduce DVI frequency on high res displays
Alternate DVI Operation Mode.

I'm no guru so if anyone can help me out I would very much appriciate it.

Thanks

Its not worth using HDMI to connect your PC to HDTV unless you have an X1300, X1600, X1800 or X1900 (these are the ATI cards which are supposed to support HDMI IIRC).

You are much better off just using a standard VGA cable. I did with my LG 26LC2R and the picture is fantastic. Anyone who says you need an expensive 24"+ monitor for big screen gaming is wrong! :D

You either need to.

1) Send 1366x768. Default rez is 1366, so create a custom rez in powerstrip.
2) Send 1360x768, but set the TV to per pixel mode (no streching)
