Hi there,

DVI-I passes both an analogue and digital video signal, so it can be used in conjunction with an adapter like this (that should come in the box with the graphics card) or a digital DVI-D connection.

Most monitors come with a DVI-D connection these days, though you only need a male-male DVI-D cable to plug one of these monitors into DVI-I graphics card.

Another increasingly popular connection is HDMI this connection uses the same video signal as DVI-D, so a passive adapter like this or a simple cable can be used to connect a DVI-I/D graphics card to a HDMI monitor. That said, your GTX 460 graphic card comes with a mini-HDMI connection - so you can just use a simple mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter to connect up to a standard HDMI display.

Also HDMI carries a sound signal, so if you are using a TV or a monitor with a sound output then HDMI is very useful in reducing the number of cables you need to hook everything up.

The ASUS is a decent monitor for gaming, it is responsive and 120Hz. However, it does have a glossy screen which is annoying to many (including myself) as the reflections can put you off if the room is brightly lit. A good alternative with a non-reflective screen is the LG W2363D, this is another good 120Hz monitor. Both of these screen use TN panels (fastest responsiveness but poor colour accuracy and viewing angles).

Alternatively, you may want to consider a nice quality E-IPS panel monitor like the Dell U2311H or U2412M. These monitors only refresh a 60Hz and aren't as responsive as the above 120Hz TN panel monitors, but they still do very well in games and offer the big benefit of accurate colours and much wider viewing angles (so unlike TN panels you don't see colour banding at the sides of the screen even when looking dead on, and the colours don't shift when you move your head slightly).

Here reviews of these two Dell E-IPS panel monitors:
