Hey guys, just got my new DVI cable today and hooked up the X850 XT to my monitor, when i turned it on i got no picture until i got into windows, kinda worrying as i need to install everything again and dual boot and can't see a thing until i get into XP at the min :(

Is there anything i can do to fix this? or maybe go back to VGA & throw a cga<>dvi converter on the end of the 360 so i don't have to keep swapping cables?

Thanks

Is your monitor set to manually go to DVI?

My 930bf has auto settings which does the same with the VGA if I have it just plugged in, had to set it to manual to get predictable results when trying to use my 360.

I just set it to auto detect now, although i'm not holding out much hope :) Sadly i have to run the 360 through here too, not enough cash for a big/hd tv atm, so am content with this monitor for the needs of it, so far dvi hasn't really looked any different to VGA so i may MM the DVI cable, and the a vga<>dvi adapter on the end of my XBOX 360's VGA cable (If that will work?) and leave it like that for the sake of ease!

it seems to be a limitation of x800series cards. (well in my experience anyway) i've had 2 and neither showed the bios/windows startup screens over dvi. :)

Well there goes DVI & Dual booting for now then! :(
