DVI or DVI-D

I lost my DVI cable while moving house and I cant remember what DVI cable connected a GTX 470 to a Samsung LCD monitor.

It'll be DVI-D.

If your monitor is 1920x1200 or less then you only need a single link cable.

I assume you mean DVI-I?.

Well both support digital signals and in single and dual link modes. The I supports both Digital and Analogue modes but the DVI-D is far the superior than that of the Analogue version as the D avoids the degradation of due to electrical noise- Either will work. Only the DVI-A is analogue only. D is what you want.
