Hi all,

I have a DVI compaitble monitor but use a vga lead (with adapter as my graphics is also DVI), Was wondering if I should purchase a DVI cable? Will there be any improvment?

Thanks

In most cases, picture quality and colour representation are vastly improved, assuming you get a decent quality cable.

Digital Video Signal > Digital TFT is better than

Digital Video Signal > DAC > Analog Cable > ADC > Digital Panel.

There are less stages in which to lose signal quality.

Depending on your setup the image quality using DVI will be slightly more "vivid" but mostly its hype... tho I believe its a bit more noticeable with high end displays - with your bog standard 19-22" TFT you may not even notice any difference at all.

My DVI cable died on thursday so i spent friday using a DAC > Analogue cable > VGA input. Didn't notice any difference at all on my Viewsonic vx2025wm.
