DVI PC Monitor and speakers. Need help.

I connect my Xbox 360 to my PC Monitor. My PC Monitor has speakers which aren't very good. It also has a sound jack on the back of it.

I tried connecting my speakers into the jack of the monitor but nothing happened. Is it possible to get them working this way?

No, thats an input on the monitor not an output.

Hmmm, I thought it was possible with a stereo coupler or something.

What are the inputs for your speakers?

A 3.5mm male only?

They work along with the HDMI cable you are already using.

Then buy a phono Male to 3.5mm female cable:

Right now I use one of these

It goes into the back of my Xbox 360, and then I use a 3.5MM to RCA Jack cable which then goes into the line in port of my sound card.

However, I get a horrible amount of static this way.

I was just trying to figure out another way of doing it so I could get less static...

I'm not fully sure I understand the way you're saying... Please could you break it down for me?

I think I've figured it out, if I do it the way you suggested, I won't even need to plug anything into my sound card?

Yes it would go direct from Xbox 360 -> Speakers.

Great stuff. Really needed one asap so I hope Amazon won't take forever delivering it.

I've Googled and googled to try and find a shop in Stoke selling them but my Google skills suck.

My local high street game retailer used to sell it - it's a proper MS accessory. The RRP used to be silly until the public realised that HDMI cables were not made out of unicorn hair. I think they're around a tenner now.
