Has anyone experinced the DVI port failing on their graphics card yet everything else on the card working fine?
I using an old build with a ATI 9800 pro in a shuttle and only started using the DVI port my monitor about 9 months ago. The cable that I using is a DVI to HMDI and worked fine, until tonight when I try powering on.. no display. I turn my mac on with is connected to the same monitor but VGA to VGA and that works, so I swapped the DVI to HMDI cable to my mac and that works. Swapping the VGA/VGA cable to my pc and that works fine to.
so I swapped both cables back and manged to get a unstable display the monitor from my pc using the DVI/HMDI cable, it keep flashing until I screwed the cable right in and then no display again.
Do you think its just the port thats gone and the connections to the board just needs to be re-soiled or do I risk more damage to the card?
Thanks
