This may appear to be a stupid question, however for reassurance:
My Viewsonic VX924 has 2 inputs VGA and DVI. My old, and current, Geforce graphics card only has a VGA output so no problem, VGA to VGA.
My new computer about to be delivered with a GeForce 6800XT has VGA and DVI connection same as my monitor. I obviously need to connect DVI to DVI but should I also connect the VGA cable? The reason for the question, stupid or not, is that the connection diagram on the Viewsonic "quick start" shows what appears to be both video cables connected.
Logic says throw the VGA cable away.
Comments appreciated.
