DVI switch for two desktops

So I'm thinking of trying to get a work desktop In future instead of laptop when the time comes, but looking at KVM switches and video output has proven a little overwhelming...

I current have two screens and would like to run the same setup with both desktops - without both being switched on. One screen has multiple HDMI ports so I can live with that, but the other screen has DVI and VGA.

Are there any kinds of switches that would work with DVI so I can plug both desktops into the same DVI port on the monitor?

Plenty of DVI KVM options out there, can't link anywhere that's a competitor here (forums rules), but nothing you can't find googling "USB DVI KVM switch" or similar.

If your HDMI monitor doesn't have DVI, you could probably get away with slinging a HDMI > DVI adapter on the KVM side of the HDMI cable (easy to source if you haven't had one lobbed in with a GPU purchase).
