Ive just bought a macbook but found ithat i wont be able to connect it to my 30'' LCD ,as the Macbook dont support dual link.

Ive bought with the Macbook the dvi adapter......Is there any box of tricks out there which could convert a single link dvi to a dual link dvi?

Or would it be possible to go from a DVI to hdmi with a converter cable which i have then back to hmi with a HDMI to dvi converter:confused:

Do you think that would work?....or is not ust not possible?

Thanks

Doesnt dual/single link limit the size of screen (pixels you can send)? Ill ahve a look. I think with single link DVI you will be limited to a Rez lower than the 30" Res.

Wikipedia is your friend

(Single) WUXGA 1920 × 1200 @ 60 Hz
(Dual) WQXGA (2560 × 1600) @ 60 Hz

The max in single link is not enough to power the 30" display at its 2560x1600 res. If the MacBook can only output single link (single pixel per clock cycle iirc) then you cannot run a display larger than 1920x1200. sorry.

It's just plain not possible. HDMI has the same resolution limitation.

You could trade it in for a Macbook Pro which does have dual link DVI output.
