Dvi to HDMI?

Hi i just got a tv and i want to watch some HD content off my pc onto my TV but by graphics card is a 9600GT and only has DVI connectors. Is there anyway around this? like a converter or something?

My friend mentions i can get a box that can stream HD content from my PC to my TV , can this be done cheaply?

DVI and HDMI have the same (video) pinouts. You can buy DVI to HDMI dongles.

Thats good, but what do i do about sound then?

well do u use a dolby digital amp? has your pc got digital sound outs?

Yeah i have a sound card in the pc, i just thought if your watching HDMI the sound had to come in with the picture to the TV in the same HDMI cable if you understand what i mean? I am probably wrong though as i havent played with HDMI before, just with Xbox

My TV (Sony 40W4000) has one HDMI port with a mini-jack audio in specifically for this situation. It might be worth checking if you have a similar arrangement.

im not 100% but i dont think u will get sound through dvi using a dvi to hd adapter mate,
