What is the difference, the tv is hd and I want to play games from my pc on the tv. I would use the sound on my pc but if I wanted to use it from the tv would it work and if not what other cables would be required?

The tv is a Samsung 26" LE26R888D.

Don't quite understand the question.

VGA, DVI and HDMI all work fine for TV resolutions.
DVI/HDMI are the same image/signal wise - HDMI optionally has sound as a bonus.
VGA is the least preferable imo as it's more likely to give a sub-optimal signal.

Just look at which ports you have and grab a cable that fits. If you have to buy one go for a cheap HDMI cable.

My TV has a HDMI and VGA input I didn't know which one to use. If DVI and HDMI are the same image wise I guess it doesn't matter which one I use then. I will go for the HDMI anyway as I might want the sound occasionally.
