Hiya folks,

Does anyone know of a reason why a VGA based monitor designed for the partially sighted (normal 19" monitor with cctv camera to enlarge documents) wont work with a dvi based graphics card.

The monitor itself functions perfectly fine, windows is usable and functions as it should but when the magnification is switched on the device errors saying VGA problem.

Could it possibly be that dvi-vga adaptors can indeed not work ?

Have u tried a different adaptor?

Yeah tried 3 different adaptors now, all result in the same problem. When switching the device over to the server which is a bog standard HP system with integrate video (vga) it works fine.

But the new workstation which contains an nvidia 7900 which has dual dvi connections on it.

First time ive ever come across a simple device like this not working due to compatability, dvi - vga adaptors are simple and do very little if anything to the signal.

Ok did a little trial and error checking and turns out when the visual aid device is connected directly to the video card it works fine, but when connected to our belkin kvm switch it doesnt. So seems to be an issue with that either not transmitting the correct signal or just not compatible with dvi based inputs.
