DVI & VGA - The Difference

Is there a lot of difference between the 2 connections, as my nephew has just brought an Asus ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB, and a Samsung SM-920NW 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor. Would he be better of swapping it with my dad's HannsG 19" Widescreen TFT Monitor???

DVI is better as when scaling down resolutions it'll automatically fit the borders properly, VGA won't do that (at least not on the monitors I've owned, a little bit gets cut off and you have to faff about in the settings for a while).

But that's about it, in my experience they are visually identical at native res. Not worth swapping monitors as there will be no visible difference. Plus you won't ever need to run something at a lower res with a 4850 on such a small monitor so it's pretty much a non issue with the scaling.

Cheers for that, I was just concerned about the gaming aspect of it, as that is what he mainly does on the computer.
