So it has occurred to me that since I've moved out, I could do with changing the address on my driver's licence (and hence car's V5, right?). However, I'm not sure how long I'll be where I am (could be less than six months), so I was wondering...

If the address points to my parents house, and they still live there, and I can go and get mail, etc. from there, do I need to change it? I'm thinking I probably do, as much as it's going to be a pain.

(Not asking about insurance, as I've already changed that to the tune of £120... new postcode area is real crappy :()

It's a £1000 fine if you are stopped with it showing the incorrect address. I don't think it's worth not doing.

EDIT

Or is that just for the picture? I can't remember to be honest and it's too late for me to be bothered checking :p

It doesn't cost a penny to change either address and no more than 10 minutes work for both.

I debated not doing it but the DL was all done online and I thought if I came to sell my car with the wrong address buyers might be put off so I got that changed - takes about 5 minutes.
