DVR / security

Hi guys,

i was looking for some help building a security pvr for my home.

What i want is a pc with low power consumption and of small form factor.
It will be running 23/7 recording movement detected on any cameras set-up.

i am looking for suggestions on all components, case, motherboard, ram, CPU, HDD, cameras and camera interfaces, PSU etc
And also does anyone know any good software for this purpose.

what ever you know, through it my way and it will be very much appreciated.

One other route i have thought of is using a NAS for this, anyone know anything about this route?

HP Microserver?

I know I keep on saying the same thing, but it's a great (and cheap!) little box and it had no issues running the three cameras I had setup for a month.
