at home, you?
been maintaining a pc system in a local bar for the past 6 months, and i think its time to wipe it and start again, now my only problem is that the camera software they use, they do not have the original discs for, and the only thing i recognise from the menu is H.264 dvr software
now, she has a hauppage pci controller for the camera cables to plug into, with 4 cameras, can anyone advise me of a free software that will do the same job?

the cameras are on phono to bnc convertors that look like these

Assuming you can get the driver for the video capture card, I've found iSpy very capable, if a little counter intuitive to set up

Open source too. I've often set it up to record on motion detection (you can even control PTZ IP cameras to follow movement, but it's a little off putting IMO!) record for a couple of seconds before the movement (from buffer) and a couple of seconds after the movement ceases. Also set it up to record in high quality then down size the output files when CPU activity allows. Needs a decent dual core to do that on the fly though in a busy place

Edit: scratch that, looks like it only supports digital video sources
