Just researching the possibility of having a dwarf rabbit, anyone had any experience or can point me in the right direction?

Would be kept inside and probably called Thor.

Dwarf, nah you want one of these bad boys:-

That's what I call a rabbit worthy of the name "Thor" ;)

Also any rabbit thread has to have obligatory:

If I were to get a rabbit called Thor, I'd want it hulking like HEADRAT mentioned.

Otherwise, call it Mjölnir if you want to keep it themed to that.

And no, I did briefly considered it, but I went with Chinchillas instead. More attitude than a roaming veg compost-er.

We had one called Albert or 'Big Al' to us. He was a house rabbit and lived in his hutch in the alleyway (Which was covered, so was part of the house).
hutch was always open and he pottered around the place chasing the cat and dog, lol. He was a legend. Got away a couple of times, but luckily came back and we lived on the edge of the A52.

Albert

edit: he lived till he was about 5. Died peacefully and was buried in our back garden.

Got a couple of house rabbits. One lionhead lop, one dutch dwarf. The dutch dwarf is pretty aloof and not keen on being stroked which is apparently typical of the breed. The lionhead lop on the other hand is a total attention whore.

We had a "Dwarf" rabbit for a few years, lovely thing but I really should have renamed it Carrot, as if it was a dwarf rabbit I wouldn't like to meet a large one in a dark alley.

We have 2 house Rabbits, generally you should buy Rabbits in Male/Female pairs as they don't like to live alone, don't go and buy two Males like we did.

Yes, we have a Netherland Dwarf rabbit, lives indoors and he's a happy creature.

Yeah this, it's really not fair to keep a rabbit alone, they are very social animals. Mixed pair (obviously neutered) otherwise they may fight.

I have a Dwarf Rabbit, Bought him about 5 years ago.

He doesn't go outside as he is only a house rabbit and has 4 big rooms to run around (when we are in)

They are very happy creatures if you give them enough attention.
buy the biggest cage you can get as its there own space.

Buy a good pair of nail clippers and pick up your rabbit as much as you can so they will warm to you easily and eventually let you pick them up or they may even give you a nudge for a good stroke/pickup.

They have to run atleast for an hour a day (they run very quickly for exercise)

Research all the vegetables you are going to feed them as they may be harmful.

The biggest thing you will need to do is hide your cables!!! they will chew the *** if you must swear, fully star it out - consider this a warning *** out of all your cables if you let them.

Dwarf rabbits are great pets but are treated badly by a lot of owners.

We had a dwarf rabbit when I was a kid. Poor little rabbit's teeth didn't oppose properly and grew out creating a sabre toothed rabbit (The vet had to clip her teeth regularly).

As if that wasn't enough, being such a small rabbit, the guinea pig took quite a shine to her!

Always preferred the giants over the dwarfs...

Heres Buzz.... a continental giant next to spade... a netherland dwarf :)
