Since i have a dx10 system was wondering if there's any decent dx10 games to be playing that visually shows it and also uses dx10 processing (more fps).

Played bioshock nothing really in it i.e no real lookin things lol. Just some sharper shadows i think and when u walk in water it leaves a ripple (oh my how exciting....) :p

So any actual dx10 games that give new levels to realism that dx9 just cant do or somit. Wana test the full power of the darksi ... erm dx10. :p

So no crysis, no bioshock no dirt 2 cos from what i see in pics it looks like what a dx9 could do albeit probs in less fps but still able to create all the visuals and effects etc and tbh dirt2 doesnt look real like in real life which i thought dx10 tech would be doing.

Yeah post is disjointed but its 2am lol.

The only visually gorgeous game that looks like dx9 couldn't do to me is the new avp game coming soon.

So basically is there or will there be games that look like this.

As id love to play a space game like that in the screenies. (i know its not a full game etc but damn i want that if it was a full game) And the other demos in vantage.

I want games thats like them in vantage basically..

Wasn't DX10 more an exercise in streamlining and refining DX9 rather than any particular visual leap?

I think you'd be hard pushed to visually tell the same game in DX10 vs DX9. Hell, it's hard enough spotting differences between DX11 and DX9 with DiRT 2 still.

Dirt 2 doesnt fully use dx11 just a small amount. No dev will fully use dx10 or 11 till consoles are up to that level i think and by then they will think its mainstream enough hardware wise for pcs.

Point being, the bits it does use (tessellation, post processing) are directly visual elements yet they are still fairly hard to spot in a lot of cases.

DX10 never really had a 'killer' visual improvement to start with, so seeing any difference between DX9 and DX10 is going to be very hard.

oh and you'll be waiting a long time for "look real like in real life which i thought dx10 tech would be doing" that. DX10 is never going make stuff look real, i expect you'll be waiting for DX14 or 15 before you get even close to that.

Duno like ive seen some examples of what the tech is capable of and looks good, just a shame no one applys it in game development yet.

Recently bought Call of Juarez 1 and downloaded the official Directx 10 enhancement pack. It runs terribly on my machine, 12 fps... and my PC runs Bioshock and Crysis fine in Directx10 mode. Don't understand it

The shadows under the trees in Far Cry 2 look quite good in DX10. Not a great game though and I got really bad stuttering in DX10 so I couldn't really play it like that :(

I have no problem with running Call of Juarez 1 in DX10

My Call of Juarez 1 DX10 benchmark at 1920x1200 = 39fps min / 142fps max / 68fps avg
