What is going to be the first dx10 game? And when?

I thought Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander where both to be patched to dx10 by now. So it is looking more likely that the first dx10 game will be Hellgate London in July.

Well Nvidia have conned us in to buying hardware that is pointless.

They filled our minds back in November with adverts, media files on how good gaming would be with 2 8800's in Sli and vista directx 10.

5 months later, no games have been produced to run directx 10, Vista is unstable with current games, especially in Sli and game manufacturers will not warrent %95 of the games to work under vista.

On Nvidia's web site it states the directx 10 gaming is here!! but I'm still looking for it ?

As well as the stability issues there are also issues with the fan controls owning 2 directx 10 cards. Without the use of 3rd party software which won't work on vista.

Nvidia on top of this have not released any official 8800 drivers since the 20th of Feb, we are almost aproaching the middle of April....

By the time things are fixed and direct x10 is being used the prices of our 8800's will have dropped by at least half.

Nvidia and Microsoft are laughing all the way to the bank

People who havn't upgraded are laughing...

Sounds like we have been conned..by Nvidia's false advertisment media.

How is it Nvidia's fault? Blame the publishers and developers.

Crysis was supposed to be out by now, delayed. Same with the patches for COH and FSX.

All Nvidia did was release their 8800 Series on-time.

I thought everyone knew the 8 series were for Dx9, no good getting them for Dx10, Dx10 wasn't released till January, 8's were released in November, 8's are 5+ months old already and theres still ZERO Dx10, and at 5+ months old now they are old hat, ill be buying a Dx10 card when Dx10 is here, no point getting an 8 series for Dx10 when theya re the slowest Dx10 carsd you can get before Dx10 is even here and can be used on em. :D

You bought an 8 series :p I can remember you praising it :p by the time DX10 games come into their prime it will be late next year :)

Yes ive got an 8 series card, but its for Dx9, i didn't buy it for Dx10, thats not here yet as i said, i bought mine solely for the Dx9 performance. :)

It's Nvidia fault because they have mislead people by advertisements to thinking that having 2 8800's and vista give the best out of gaming, when actually all it does is cause endless problems. Until they had hard evidence that there would be very little compatibality issues then they shouldn't of made the claims as they they did. They also stamped the vista essential logo on the back of the 8800's box and when vista was launched there were no drivers available until a day later which were unstable and only available in beta release.

Poor launch, Poor follow up IMO

Get the latest 101.70 drivers and most of your problems will disappear :) Windows update should have them for you. Or guru3d.com.

Also yes the games are taking a while to appear but that isn't nvidias fault, and lets face it the 8800 can handle dx9 pretty well :p

Yeah and now Nvidia have removed the Vista ready logo's from all their cards as they are nowhere near Vista ready, major **** up that by em, promised and still not delivered today :)

Problems aside (we all know Nvidia drivers are crap right now), everything they have said is true. Two 8800s in SLI give the best performance right now with DirectX 10 support and Vista has support for DirectX 10. See? All true.

Your problem lies with the game developers, it's that simple, because the hardware is here but the software is not and last I checked Nvidia and ATI do not develop games. They've done their jobs.

2x 8800's in SLi in Vista do give the best in gaming, only in Dx9 though. :p

They better get their fingers out of their asses as by the time Crysis gets here, if you have 2x 8800's in SLi in Vsita, then your only gona be running it on one card, unless you run it in Dx9 mode, but don't expect them to hurry as they don't support their cards. :D

It can in XP but still think that nvidia made too much sales talk stating that SLI and Directx 10 gaming is amazing when clearly nothing has yet materialized, again IMO they should have at least had a DX10 launch title available.

Thanks for the driver suggestion

so far 100.65 just freeze or crash
101.41 (beta) give me direct3d issues.

Are 101.70 third party as I don't see them on nvidia's web site?
