Hi guys,
Just a few thoughts. Going by an article on fudzilla (eek!), they suggest that current dx10 scaling with more than 2 cards is a bit of an issue. Now if the future at present is dx10 and R700 is gonna be multi gpu with I assume upto 4 gpu's on one board, and ati are developing their solutions around multi-card/gpu platforms...
... are they signing there on death warrant?
Obviously to a slightly lesser extent Nvidia are in the same boat but they current have the faster performing single card (not taking into account the 3870X2). What does this mean for the future of dx10 and these multicard setups?
Are we likely to see amendments to dx10 to resolve this bad scaling, is this a driver/implementation issue, early release of dx11(!?) or something else.
Just after thoughts on it really.
NOTE: This is NOT meant to be an nvidia/amd(ati) debate about single solutions, just a discussion about the future if DX10 is showing a scaling issue.
Matthew
