hey, so gonna get a new card.

GOt an ATI 4870 at the moment, nothing wrong with it, however i'm considering getting two more monitors and a matrox splitter and having 3 screens linked..

So i guess the first question is will it work with my current card? i've read that it won't work as well with ati as it does with nvidia cards (matrox 3 splitter).

second questions is ok so what Nvidia card? was considering getting a 285 as they cost appx £230....or......

is it gonna be better just to wait as dx11 cards will be out somtime?? and if waiting is it gonna be worth it?

Cheers!

you can get somthing called amatrox digital splitter which'll run off of one graphics card and spread the display across 3 monitors.

My question in relation to this was if anyone know that ati cards don't work as well as nvidia cards with it due to a resolution limit with the ati cards working with the matrox splitter.

Able to drive the industry’s largest and highest resolution flat-panel displays up to 2560x1600 and with support for High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP).
from the Nvidia website about the gtx 295. So I guess they're on a par...

as long as your total resoltion isn't greater than 2560 x 1600 I can't see why not. What res will you run the 3 monitors at? I read in another post on here that you can turn down the res on the outer two monitors without noticing as they're usually in your peripheral vision only...
