DxTory, x264 and Sony Vegas problem...

Just wondering if I'm recording the right way.
Currently I use DxTory with a x264 codec, however my problem is that I can't put it into Sony Vegas, are there any ways around this? When I try it says that an error occurred when opening a codec.

I have both seen and experienced this problem. I switched to the Lagarith Codec and it's been perfect ever since!

Funny you say that as I switched to the Lagarith codec earlier today.
Just curious as to what your process is of recording to uploading, because currently I record at 29.97fps at 1080p, in YV12 mode with multithreading ticked. I do get large files sizes because of this however, but after I put it into Virtual Dub and encode it into x264, which shortens the file size massively.
What way do you do it?

I encode at 60 FPS with Lagarith. (best codec for quality, file size and low impact on system resources)
Edit in Vegas and render out to x264, 30FPS, around 17,000bit/sec
