We have an Ikea sofabed (tomelilla), hunted high and low for a new cover, nogo.
It started a navy blue colour but if now fairly faded in areas.

I was wanting to Dye it black but at £6 a pack and looking to need 4/5 packs the high street Dylon seems pretty expensive.

Any other recommended dyes?
The covers in total weight 2.6Kg

Aye thats the stuff I've been looking at but according to the instructions I'm gonna need 4/5 packs of dye :/

Surely that can't be healthy for the washer lol

Doesn't affect the machine, had my Bosch 10 years & it hasn't harmed it yet dying material, no staining, but I do put machine through a rinse cycle after I've finished.
Works perfectly, but follow the instructions, especially the salt & everything will be ok, but you will need 5 boxes.

EDIT: Have a look in Wilkinson, it's cheapest I've found, you can order online & collect in store next day.
